My First Storify Story
I used Storify to make my first storify story. This story combines twitter, flickr photos and text, with links back to each original source. YOu can also include source material from facebook and blogs.
Storify is a very easy use platform, that brings together posts from around the web, to tell a story.

SelfControl for Internet Addiction

It was supposed to be a quick diversion, Katie Inman told herself last week as she flipped open her laptop. She had two tests to study for, three problem sets due, a paper to revise. But within minutes, the MIT sophomore was drawn into the depths of the Internet, her work shunted aside.There's a sidebar that describes the program, SelfControl, but no link.
“I had just closed Facebook, but then I reopened it. It’s horrible,’’ said Inman, a mechanical engineering major. “I would type a sentence for my paper, and then get back on Facebook.’’
Desperate for productivity, Inman did something many of her classmates at one of the most wired campuses would find unfathomable: She installed a program that blocks certain websites for up to 24 hours. No social networking. No e-mail. No aimless surfing...
As for Inman, she has developed a new routine to keep from succumbing to the lure of the Internet. Around 9:30 each evening as she settles down to study, she sets the self-control application on her laptop for two hours. She is blocked from Facebook, Twitter, and other websites she does not want to be tempted by.
And there is nothing she can do to disable it once it is set.

U Scape It - Best Example: Stop and Shop 360 Panorama Created from Video
I'm testing out the new free iPhone app, UScapeit.
UScapeit lets you take a video and then transforms it into a 360 degree view.

This app is different from the 360 Panorama App I've been using in that it uses video to capture the image, instead of a combined mosaic of photos.
My first few attempts didn't turn out so well.

It's because I was spinning the camera around too fast. You've got to take 30-40 seconds to shoot your video of the scene. Also, you need to keep the phone on the same vertical axis as you shoot.
I asked them about this and UScape.it replied:
Regarding the “slow” question: the app is pulling individual frames from the video to build the panorama. Our eyes fool us with video because a group of frames look fine and clear—but when you isolate out individual frames, those frames are blurry. If you were to time your captures on 360 and other panorama apps, you’ll most likely find that those captures take even longer than the 30 seconds that we recommend for UScapeit captures.I think the quality is very good. I'll be doing more testing.

When I arrived at HubSpot for the shoot with David Wells, he had three cameras ready to go. The problem was that they were all lined up beside each other getting a slightly different three-shot of the interview area.
David was happy to get some help, so I moved the cameras around to get him three different shots.
I set up two medium shots of each guest, and a wide shot including both the guest and interviewer.
Now there was a lot more interest in the shots.

On the above two shots, I framed each person in the same way. Also, instead of centering them in the shot, I placed the interviewer to the right and the guest to the left, so that it looks like the interviewer and guest are talking to each other.
Two Shot:
The two shot gives the viewer perspective of where the interviewer and guest are sitting.
