Last weeks telegraph had an article on how Jennifer Hawkins stays in shape and gets ready for summer.
She said she prepares for summer by
  • Cutting back alcohol

  • Get a personnel trainer

  • Do yoga and Pilates

  • Do weight training

  • Do boxing

  • Train the core

  • Lower your carbs

  • Drink water

I think this would be a badly kept secret, common sense if you ask me.
How ever its good advice lets look at what she does.
Cut back alcohol don’t despair she said cut back not drop it entirely.
Apart from the empty calories alcohol has when you drink the body is focused on processing alcohol, it is not able to properly break down foods containing carbohydrates and fat. Therefore, these calories are converted into body fat and are carried away for permanent storage on your body.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could train like the stars and have our own trainer with us every day?

Sorry ladies but if one more woman says to me I don’t want to do resistance training because I will bulk up with muscle ill scream , It’s a MYTH.
If you want to lose weight, burn more fat, look and feel stronger, have stronger bones and be able to eat more without putting on extra weight from fat, ABSOLUTELY! Then train with weights. Strength training replaces lost muscle tis sue and means YOU will have a faster metabolism, faster fat burning and less chance of getting fat!!!
Strength training does not make women 'bigger' and 'bulkier'.
Muscle is smooth, lean, hard and small; Fat is lumpy, flabby, soft and big - the choice is YOURS; which would you prefer??
Have you thought about boxing for weight loss and toneing? At Flexit we use it quite a lot with our female clients also our boxing classes and Wednesday nights ladies self defence is great fun, Boxing is without a doubt one of the best interval training routines possible that sends your heart rate sky high each and every time.
Just doing ab training wont tighten your mid section say good bye to the ab machines on TV they don’t work, Sure after we have taken the surface fat off you want something there to show. When we do a program for you we always include a core work out.
More so to protect your back and body but also to have that tight mid section when the fat comes off.
Generally we eat too many carbs and I deal with carb and sugar addiction a lot with clients, the body can only store a limited amount of carbohydrates. Be it in the liver or the muscles there is only so much “carb saturation” that is going to take place before the rest is stored as an unusable, excess calorie, weight gaining by product. 
Water, most people don’t drink enough water. Most people are also carrying around a few more kilos than they would be if they did drink enough water. If you can’t seem to get that weight off, try drowning your sorrows in nature’s magical weight-loss mineral. It works.
Ladies you might not be able to look like Jennifer Hawkins but you can certainly pick up a few of her secrets to start you on your way.
