Olympus has finally rolled out the Stylus Tough 6020 rugged compact camera for the mass market. Available in black, blue, green, and pink, the digicam comes jam packed with a 14-megapixels CCD sensor with a 5X optical zoom lens (equivalent to 28mm – 140mm with f3.9-5.9), a 2.7-inch LCD display with 230,000 pixels and a sensor-shift image stabilization. This compact digital camera is waterproof up to 16 feet, shockproof from 5 feet, freezeproof to 14F and dustproof. What makes the Olympus Stylus Tough 6020 more interesting is that it can record video at 1280 x 720 (30 fps) with sound using the MPEG-4 codec. There is also a “Tap Control” that allows you to operate certain camera functions by tapping the top and side of the camera. It has a 1GB onboard memory (632MB usable), which is upgradable via an SD/SDHC card slot. Additional specs include an HDMI output, a USB port, and a LI-50B lithium-ion battery (240 shots per charge). The new Olympus Stylus Tough 6020 retails for $299 a pop. [About Digital Cameras via Best Digital Camera]
