Here is one actress who doesn’t belong to a filmy background but has surely made a mark in the film industry. That’s Aarti Chhabria, all of 25 and beaming with energy.
Born to a Sindhi speaking family on 21st November 1982, Aarti began as a fashion model. After modeling for a few years she won the prestigious Miss India crown in the year 2000. From then began an onward journey into films, advertisements and music videos.
Aarti has been the fresh face for more than 120 ads including Amul, Farex, Liril and Krack Cream. She has also featured in music videos for Sukhwinder Singh titled “Nasha Hi Nasha hai” and for Adnan Sami in “Tera Chehra”. The one titled “Madhubala” shot her to fame.
“Tumse Achha Kaun Hai” was the debut film of Aarti as the mail lead heroine but it did little to portray her as an actress with extraordinary talent. Previously she had done small roles in “Lajja” and “Akansha”. Then came films like Awara Pagal Deewana, Raja Bhaiya, Shaadi No.1 and Milenge Milenge. None of these films found commercial success, nor give Aarti some great reviews.
In a span of 7 years, Aarti has worked with actors like Govinda, Fardeen Khan and Akshay Kumar. Though she has not yet given a blockbuster hit film, some people believe that she has tremendous potential as an actress. From the girlfriend to Gulab Khatri, in Awaara Pagal Deewana, to a woman with multiple personality, Aarti has surely proved her versatility.
Apart from eating healthy food, not many know that Aarti is fluent in languages like Marathi, Sindhi, Gujarati and Telegu apart from Hindi and English. She admits that acting was her childhood dream and that this profession gives her utmost satisfaction. This 5’5” girl believes in hard work and in “living your dreams”.
Before joining Bollywood, Aarti was already a known face in South India. She is doing some good films like “Anamika”, with Dino Morea and Koena Mitra but there is a long way to go before Aarti can actually count herself among the top actresses of Bollywood.
